Overview
Piraeus Port is Greece’s largest and busiest passenger port, located approximately 12 km (7.5 mi) southwest of Athens city center. It consists of 12 gates (E1-E12), with ferries departing from gates E1-E10 and cruise ships using E11-E12.
As Athens’ main gateway to the Greek islands, Piraeus serves over 20 million passengers annually, making it one of Europe’s largest passenger ports and the starting point for visitors planning on island-hopping in the Greek islands.
From here, you can catch ferries to popular destinations like Santorini, Mykonos, Paros, Naxos and many more Greek islands across the Aegean Sea.
Most people that arrive at Piraeus are usually connecting from Athens International Airport (about 45-60 minutes by car) or coming from Athens city center (about 25-35 minutes).
Whether you’re planning on traveling to or from Piraeus, we highly recommend pre-booking your ground transportation well in advance. Especially if you’re traveling during the high season (May – October) when the ferries are at full capacity and the schedules are tight.

Frequently Asked Questions
Below, you’ll find answers to our most commonly asked questions. Can’t find the answer you’re looking? Feel free to contact us and we’ll be in touch as soon as possible!
Ferry gates at Piraeus are assigned based on your final destination and depend on which ferry company you made your reservation with. Gates E1-E10 handle passenger ferries, while cruise ships use E11-E12. Your driver will know the correct gate for your ferry company and destination, but we always recommend checking your ticket or with the ferry company directly as gate assignments can occasionally change.
It is recommended to arrive 2 hours prior to your scheduled departure time, especially during the high season. This allows time for ticket collection (if necessary), security checks, and boarding the ferry. If you have some time to spare, we also recommend grabbing a coffee or pastry at one of the cafes across the street before you depart.
Yes, of course! Our drivers are experts when it comes to the layout of the port and will do their absolute best to drop you off at the gate closest to your ferry departure. However, please note that the port sometimes restricts vehicle access to certain areas during busy periods, in which case we’ll drop you at the nearest accessible point and provide you with directions to your specific gate.
Ferry schedules can change due to unexpected weather, especially during the winter months. If your ferry is delayed, we simply ask that you contact the driver via WhatsApp to keep him updated on your ETA. If your ferry is cancelled entirely, again we just ask that you keep us updated so that we can adjust your transfer to the next available departure..
Yes, it is possible to book last minute airport transfers but please note that we cannot guarantee availability for all last minute inquiries. To ensure availability, please be sure to book your transfer at least 24-48 hours in advance of your arrival or departure.
Our fleet consists of modern, well-maintained Mercedes Sprinter Minivans and Minibuses.
